butterfly zone

The Butterfly Zone exhibit is back at the SF Conservatory of Flowers, now through November 2.

I have been wanting to make a visit to the Conservatory anyway lately because I haven't been inside in a few months - and now the butterflies are back, yay!

Maybe I will have the energy required to go there in a few days. Or there is always the weekend.

The white butterfly pic was taken a couple years ago there, with a previous Canon pocket camera.

No reason for posting this right now other than I like it. They just don't make buzzers like this anymore... I think it's 80 or 90 years old, assuming it's as old as the building.

I think we will have to go up the coast again next weekend, on Caesar Chavez Day, which is a state holiday in CA. Joe says he can't take any days off in April. The pic is from 2003, many cameras ago, but it's one of my fave faves of the MCBG.

In May he has some vacation time allotted but I think we are going in the other direction then - east to Yosemite, then south along the remote eastern side of the Sierra to Death Valley and Joshua Tree, then west to the coast and north back to SF. No need to leave California to get five different climates and terrains. :)

And that is how we plan to spend our upcoming "rebate"... helping out the CA economy by traveling up and down the state in May.  We did not get much of a refund, and I already used it to pay current bills.  But at least we did not owe any extra on top of the bazillions we already paid in withholding.
