Yosemite National Park

When we come back from our little road trip, I am thinking we might rest a day or so and then maybe go up to Yosemite for a couple of days. Have not been up there in three years.

May is a great time there - the waterfalls are going like gangbusters, and the summer hoards are not there yet. Finding somewhere to stay there will still be hard on short notice though, so I don't know if this is possible.

short notice

I have been lucky finding things on short notice. One of the clerks once told me that checking 3-4 days ahead often works well because people have to cancel their reservations within that time frame to get their money back.

I hope it works out....I'd love to be there this month!

I was thinking that too - that maybe I would wait till we come back from Oregon and then call and see if there have been cancellations for the middle of that week somewhere in the park.

Our anniversary is May 12, we used to go to Yosemite each year for that anniversary and loved it! The dogwoods are blooming about that time too. Hope you have a wonderful time!

Last time we were there it was May - we stayed near Wawona in a cabin and the dogwood were lovely.

Then we would drive into the valley and hike around, and then we would go have a drink at the Ahwahnee Hotel.

I want to stay at the Ahwahnee! :)

I first went to Yosemite when I was in junior high, I think it was 1965, when we lived in Merced for a year.
