The most beautiful corner of San Francisco - 1500 acres of gorgeousness. 

Since the Army left anyway it has been fantastic, after they cleaned up the toxic dump the Army left on the beach there, restored the marshes to their natural state so the birds came back, created the picnic areas and so on.  For the past eight years or so, it's been heavenly. 

So many things are so much better than they used to be here, and that includes the entire waterfront  all the way around from Mission Bay on the east side to Fort Funston on the west side.

where it says "baker beach" is a short walk - 15 or 20 minutes.
